Global Wisdom Collective's Revitalize the Roots (™) Initiative Framework

The Revitalize the Roots Framework(™) is a living methodology, a flexible structure, and a movement that exists to ignite the preservation of Indigenous knowledge systems, by and for Indigenous Peoples. It is rooted in intergenerational dialogue and community-led archiving. The system evolves through partnership to ensure that initiatives honor each community’s unique ways of knowing and being.

Our Role With Communities

Co-leadership and relational facilitation: Co-stewarding projects with local leaders based on community-defined vision.

Framework guidance and alignment: Offering RTR as a flexible foundation, adapting to specific traditions and geographies.

Advising and capacity building: Structure, systems, and wisdom transfer from project to project.

As RTR grows, we remain committed to integrity, relational reciprocity, and cultural humility at every step. Our work spans three focus areas for community-led projects—Ancestral Lands-Based Communities, Diaspora Communities, and Focused Heritage Traditions. GWC forms co-partnerships with Indigenous-led organizations and community groups to design and implement projects that honor their priorities and knowledge systems. GWC does not own any Indigenous knowledge; all archives, documentation, and resources remain under the stewardship of the communities themselves. Together, we co-create strategies, share resources, and support intergenerational knowledge transmission, always keeping community leadership and cultural integrity at the center.

Our Focus areas

Revitalize the Roots:
Ancestral Lands Based

We work directly with Indigenous communities who continue to live on their ancestral lands. These projects focus on safeguarding place-based knowledge systems, strengthening intergenerational transmission, and supporting communities to preserve the traditions that remain deeply tied to their homelands.

Seeds from the Root:

Seeds for Roots uplifts Indigenous peoples living in the diaspora, who are often navigating loss of access to ancestral homelands. This focus area supports reconnection through cultural preservation, storytelling, and community-led projects that honor their roots while creating space for new cultural expressions to flourish. It ensures that traditions carried far from home remain living, evolving, and interwoven into the future of Indigenous identity.

Focused Heritage Traditions:

Safeguarding comprehensive heritage systems—medicine, spirituality, and ecological knowledge—as identified by the communities who carry them, whether in the diaspora or on ancestral lands. Projects focus on documenting, practicing, and transmitting these traditions, ensuring they remain vibrant and accessible to future generations.
